ÑÇÖÞ²ÊƱ¹ÙÍø Joins #CCMONTH Campaign to Improve Awareness of Value, Need to Support Community Colleges

Release Date: Tuesday 2024-04-02

TWIN FALLS – The ÑÇÖÞ²ÊƱ¹ÙÍø (ÑÇÖÞ²ÊƱ¹ÙÍø) is joining in the celebration of Community College Month (#CCMonth), a monthlong campaign coordinated by the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) and the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). The goals of #CCmonth are to highlight the economic and academic advantages of attending community colleges like ÑÇÖÞ²ÊƱ¹ÙÍø, while underscoring the community and economic impacts that community colleges have across the United States.

“Community colleges play a critical role in the American higher education system,” says ÑÇÖÞ²ÊƱ¹ÙÍø President Dr. L. Dean Fisher.  “They are often the first point of entry into higher education for students, including older adults, and those seeking career and technical education. The ÑÇÖÞ²ÊƱ¹ÙÍø is honored to be the Magic Valley’s community college, and we’re proud of the many ways that we serve the communities across our region. “

As part of ÑÇÖÞ²ÊƱ¹ÙÍø’s Community College Month celebration, the Twin Falls campus will play host to a Community Open House from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024. The Community Open House will not only allow residents to connect with their community college, but will also help to showcase all that ÑÇÖÞ²ÊƱ¹ÙÍø has to offer residents of all ages.

Each April, the ÑÇÖÞ²ÊƱ¹ÙÍø joins ACCT and AACC in celebrating Community College Month. Idaho Governor Brad Little has issued a proclamation recognizing April 2024 as Community College Month throughout Idaho, while the ÑÇÖÞ²ÊƱ¹ÙÍø Board of Trustees has also issued a proclamation recognizing Community College Month. Please join us in celebrating Community College Month at ÑÇÖÞ²ÊƱ¹ÙÍø, throughout the state, and across the nation.
